One of the things I love most about our home is the view of the ever-changing sunsets, the giant clouds and fog that roll through the sky, and the amazing lightning storms (albeit scary). I love that our upper living room windows also reveal the sky and allow the moon to light up the living room at night when it’s full.
When I originally created my blog, one of the links I included at the top was, “Love, God”. I wanted to share my photos of the sky taken from our home because they felt like love letters from God through His creation. Being that my passion is for design and I believe He is the Master Designer, I saw it fitting to include it at the top. I can’t deny His skills. Who else can put red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet together and make it look absolutely amazing? I soon took the link down because it occurred to me that, “Love, God”, could lead people to think it was where I spelled out my beliefs, and maybe cause them to miss out on the love letters. Instead, they are accessible from a sunset photo in my sidebar.
These are all shot from our back porch or through our living room windows and are straight off of my camera. And in case you haven’t been–welcome to Texas!
I have been on the hunt for a new side table for the couch in our bedroom ever since my husband sold our previous one on Craig’s List. After playing with various side tables on a mood board, I knew that I wanted something with brass or gold to add a warm tone to our bedroom. Convincing my husband to let brass through the bedroom door was not an easy task. But when I spotted a side table on Target’s website that seemed to fit the bill, and it was on sale, someone was on board! I absolutely love it and the price was definitely right. It adds a high-end look and it didn’t break the bank. Sadly, because it was on sale, when I went to add the link, I discovered it is no longer available. However, Target seems to be knocking it out of the park lately with their Threshold Collection and other beautiful options keep flowing! Here is our new side table:
The table is not actual brass, but certainly has the appearance of it.
Even up close, it’s quite lovely.
Here is a look at our previous side table:
I personally loved it. My husband tolerated it. Aaaah, the joys of being married to a fellow creative….
Of course, I should be thanking him, because it gave me the opportunity to talk him into getting the look of brass in our bedroom! And, I love the new table in our space more than the last.
