I have been on the hunt for a new side table for the couch in our bedroom. After playing with various side tables on a mood board, I knew that I wanted something with brass or gold to add a warm tone. I found a side table on Target’s website that seemed to fit the bill. I absolutely love it and the price was definitely right. It adds a high-end look and it didn’t break the bank. Sadly, because it was on sale, when I went to add the link, I discovered it is no longer available. However, Target seems to be knocking it out of the park lately with their Threshold Collection and other beautiful options keep flowing! Here is our new side table:
The table is not actual brass, but certainly has the appearance of it.
Even up close, it’s quite lovely.
Here is a look at our previous side table:
I personally loved it. My husband tolerated it. Aaaah, the joys of being married to a fellow creative….
Of course, I should be thanking him, because it gave me the opportunity to talk him into getting the look of brass in our bedroom! And, I love the new table in our space more than the last.

There are several birds and woodland creatures that inhabit our home. They are made of various metals, or wood, or clay. My husband has been kind enough not to complain about the fact that they somehow continue to multiply, slowly but surely.
We also have the live variety outdoors that visit
or lie around
And there’s always the live variety lying around inside
and getting fur on everything.
I can’t get enough of them–real and fake. Friends and family know this about me. I have been known to toss food to birds in parking lots and at restaurants. My husband has accepted it. I can’t help it. I brake for squirrels and will gladly feed them at my back door
or at my window

This past Christmas a family member kindly gifted each of us in the family with money. It was just the right amount for me to bring home a few more creatures during Anthropologie’s home sale.
Squirrel, welcome the gaggle.
I can’t begin to tell you the joy it brings me that creatures in a multitude of mediums and forms have flooded the design world. I hope the trend never goes away!
